Paduka Sri Sultan Iskandar Muda Mahkota Perkasa 'Alam Shah Johan Berdaulat Zainal-Abidin ibni al-Marhum Sultan Mansur Shah, Sultan of Aceh Dar us-Salam, by his wife Siti Ungu Putri Berinai [Siti Unai], daughter of Raja Halib [al-Marhum Mankat di-Jambu], of Pinangawan, by his second wife, the daughter of a Raja of Angkola. m. Sri Paduka Raja 'Abdu'l Jalil I ibni al-Marhum Sultan Iskandar Muda Johan Berdaulat [al-Marhum Tangkahan Sitarak], Raja and Yang di-Pertuan of Asahan, by his first wife, Amina, daughter of Ompa Liang, Bendahara. 17xx - 1760 Y.T.M. Sri Paduka Raja Muhammad Mahrum Shah ibni al-Marhum Raja Said Shah [al-Marhum Gagap], Raja and Yang di-Pertuan of Asahan, son of Y.T.M. Sri Paduka Raja Said Shah ibni al-Marhum Raja 'Abdu'l Jalil [al-Marhum Simpang Tiga], Raja and Yang di-Pertuan of Asahan, by his wife, Inche' Halijah, daughter of the Bendahara. m. Inche' Samida, daughter of the Bendahara. He d. at Sungei Banitan, 1760, having had issue, three sons:

• (a) Y.M. Raja Ngah 'Ali bin Raja Muhammad Abu Bakar, Sri Maharaja. m. (first) a lady from Batu Bara. m. (second) a Tengku from Deli. m. (third) Y.M. Sharifa Maheran, a lady of Arab descent from Palembang. m. (fourth) Inche' Lebar. He had issues, four sons and four daughters:
• (i) Y.M. Raja Muhammad Nur bin Raja Ngah 'Ali [Raja Alang] (s/o of the lady from Batu Bara). m. Inche' Amina, a lady from Malacca. He had issue, one daughter:
• 1. Y.M. Raja Zainab binti Raja Alang Muhammad Nur. b. ca. 1913. m. (first) ca. 1927, Y.B.M. Tengku Hitam 'Umar bin Tengku Muda Usman, Tengku Sri Setia di-Raja (b. 27th December 1884; d. 25th April 1945), sometime State Sec. of Trengganu, son of Y.M. Tengku Usman bin Tunku 'Abdu'l Jalil, of Singapore, by his third wife, Cik Maimuna. m. (second) Encik Muhammad Osman. She d. at Singapore, 4th May 1979, having had issue, one son and two daughters - see Malaysia (Johor).
• (ii) Y.M. Raja 'Abdu'l Majid bin Raja Ngah 'Ali (s/o of the lady from Batu Bara). m. Hajah Uteh, daughter of the Datuk Bandar of Kisaran. He had issue, three sons and one daughter:
• 1. Y.M. Raja Ahmad bin Raja 'Abdu'l Majid.
• 2. Y.M. Raja Montel bin Raja 'Abdu'l Majid.
• 3. Y.M. Raja Gusti bin Raja 'Abdu'l Majid.

• (iii) Y.M. Raja Mansur bin Raja Ngah 'Ali [Raja Suloh] (s/o Sharifah Maheran). m. Che' Esah binti Abdullah, a Chinese lady who converted to Islam.

• 1. Y.M. Raja Kadir bin Raja Ni'mat.

• (ii) Y.M. Raja Pe'ah (Raja Imah) binti Raja Ngah 'Ali (d/o the Deli princess). m. Raja Alang Sharif, of Kota Pinang. She had issue, four children.
• (iii) Y.M. Raja Amina binti Raja Ngah 'Ali (d/o Sharifah Maheran). m. Y.M. Raja Amir bin Tengku Muhammad of Kota Pinang, son of Y.A.M. Raja Kongah Halijah (Raja Jijah), daughter of the Yang di-Pertuan of Kota Pinang. She had issue, one son and six daughters.
• (iv) Y.M. Raja Nambut binti Raja Ngah 'Ali (d/o Inche Lebar). m. (first) a member of the Aceh Royal Family. m. (second) Haji Musa. She had issue, one daughter, by her first husband.
• (b) Y.M. Raja Alang Ismail bin Raja Muhammad Abu Bakar.
• (a) Y.M. Raja Uteh binti Raja Muhammad Abu Bakar. m. as his first wife, H.H. Sri Paduka Tuanku Sultan Muhammad Husain Rahmad Shah II ibni al-Marhum Tengku Muhammad 'Adil, Sultan and Yang di-Pertuan of Asahan (b. 1862; d. at Tanjung Balai, 7th July 1915), eldest son of Y.A.M. Tengku Muhammad 'Adil [Babul] ibni al-Marhum Sultan Muhammad Husain Rahmad Shah, by his first wife, Inche' Sri Bulan, daughter of the Panglima Perang. She had issue, at least one son - see below.

1760 - 1765 Y.T.M. Sri Paduka Raja 'Abdu'l Jalil Shah II ibni al-Marhum Raja Muhammad Mahrum Shah [al-Marhum Mangkat di Sungei Raja], Raja and Yang di-Pertuan of Asahan, eldest son of Y.T.M. Sri Paduka Raja Muhammad Mahrum Shah ibni al-Marhum Raja Said Shah [al-Marhum Gagap], Raja and Yang di-Pertuan of Asahan, by his wife, Inche' Samida, daughter of the Bendahara. m. Inche' Salama, daughter of the Bendahara. He d. at Sungei Raja, 1765, having had issue, three sons:
• 1) Y.A.M. Raja Deva Shah, who succeeded as Y.T.M. Sri Paduka Raja Deva Shah ibni al-Marhum Raja 'Abdu'l Jalil, Raja and Yang di-Pertuan of Asahan (s/o Salama) - see below.
• 2) Y.A.M. Raja 'Abdu'l Zalim ibni al-Marhum Raja 'Abdu'l Jalil, Raja Muda (s/o Salama).
• 3) Y.A.M. Sutan Muda (s/o Salama). He had issue, three sons and one daughter, including:
• a) Y.M. Tengku Sutan bin Sutan Muda. He had issue, a son and a daughter:
• i) Y.M. Tengku Tua bin Tengku Sutan. m. a daughter of H.H. Sri Paduka Tuanku Sutan Gegar Alam, Yang di-Pertuan Besar of Panai. He had issue:
• (1) Y.M. Tengku Sulung binti Tengku Tua. m. as his first wife, H.H. Sri Paduka Tuanku Sultan Muhammad Husain Rahmad Shah I ibni al-Marhum Raja Muhammad 'Ali Shah, Sultan and Yang di-Pertuan Besar of the State of Asahan (b. 1806; d. at Sirantau, 10th February 1859, bur. Kampung Masjid), son of Y.T.M. Sri Paduka Raja Muhammad 'Ali Shah ibni al-Marhum Raja Deva Shah, Raja and Yang di-Pertuan of the State of Asahan, by his wife, Tengku Ampuan, daughter of Tengku Sutan. • i) Y.A.M. Tengku Ampuan. m. Y.T.M. Sri Paduka Raja Muhammad 'Ali Shah ibni al-Marhum Raja Deva Shah, Raja and Yang di-Pertuan of the State of Asahan (d. at Sirantau, 1813), second son of Y.T.M. Sri Paduka Raja Deva Shah ibni al-Marhum 'Abdu'l Jalil, Raja and Yang di-Pertuan of Asahan, by his third wife, a Chinese lady from Malacca. She had issue - see below.
• b) Y.M. Tengku Gagap bin Sutan Muda.

1765 - 1805 Y.T.M. Sri Paduka Raja Deva Shah ibni al-Marhum 'Abdu'l Jalil [al-Marhum Mangkat di Pasir Putih], Raja and Yang di-Pertuan of Asahan, eldest son of Y.T.M. Sri Paduka Raja 'Abdu'l Jalil Shah II ibni al-Marhum Raja Muhammad Mahrum Shah, Raja and Yang di-Pertuan of Asahan, by his wife, Inche' Salama, daughter of the Bendahara. m. (first) a daughter of the Bendahara. m. (second) a daughter of the Raja of Tanah Java. m. (third) a Chinese lady from Malacca. m. (fourth) Inche' Jahu, another lady from Malacca. m. (fifth) Sayyida …He d. at Pasir Putih, 1805, having had issue, three sons:
• 1) Y.A.M. Raja Musa, who succeeded as Y.T.M. Sri Paduka Raja Said Musa Shah ibni al-Marhum Raja Deva Shah, Raja and Yang di-Pertuan of Asahan (s/o the third wife) - see below.
• 2) Y.A.M. Raja Muhammad 'Ali, who succeeded as Y.T.M. Sri Paduka Raja Muhammad 'Ali Shah ibni al-Marhum Raja Deva Shah, Raja and Yang di-Pertuan of Asahan (s/o the third wife) - see below.
• 3) Y.A.M. Raja Laut (s/o Inche' Jahu).

1805 - 1808 Y.T.M. Sri Paduka Raja Said Musa Shah ibni al-Marhum Raja Deva Shah [al-Marhum Mangkat di-Rantau Panjang], Raja and Yang di-Pertuan of the State of Asahan, eldest son of Y.T.M. Sri Paduka Raja Deva Shah ibni al-Marhum 'Abdu'l Jalil, Raja and Yang di-Pertuan of Asahan, by his third wife, a Chinese lady from Malacca. Succeeded on the death of his father, 1805. m. Inche' Fatima, daughter of Megat Gunug, Bendahara. He d.s.p. at Rantau Panjang, 1808 (succ. by his younger brother), having had issue, one posthumous son and one daughter, including:
• 1) H.H. Sri Paduka Raja Muhammad Ishaq ibni al-Marhum Raja Said Musa Shah, Raja of Kualuh and Leidong and Yang di-Pertuan Muda of Asahan. b. posthumously, three months after the death of his father, 1808 (s/o Inche' Fatima). He had issue, three sons and four daughters - see Indonesia (Kualuh), including:
• a) H.H. Sri Paduka Tuanku Ni'matu'llah Shah ibni al-Marhum Raja Muhammad Ishaq, Sultan of Asahan and Yang di-Pertuan of Kualuh and Leidong - see below and Indonesia (Kualuh).
1808 - 1813 Y.T.M. Sri Paduka Raja Muhammad 'Ali Shah ibni al-Marhum Raja Deva Shah, Raja and Yang di-Pertuan of the State of Asahan, second son of Y.T.M. Sri Paduka Raja Deva Shah ibni al-Marhum 'Abdu'l Jalil, Raja and Yang di-Pertuan of Asahan, by his third wife, a Chinese lady from Malacca. Succeeded on the death of his elder brother, 1808. m. (first) Y.A.M. Tengku Ampuan, sister of Y.A.M. Tengku Tua, and daughter of Y.A.M. Tengku Sutan. He d. at Sirantau, 1813 (succ. by his nephew), having had issue, a son and a daughter:
• 1) H.H. Sri Paduka Tuanku Sultan Muhammad Husain Rahmad Shah I ibni al-Marhum Raja Muhammad 'Ali Shah, Sultan and Yang di-Pertuan of the State of Asahan (s/o the Tengku Ampuan) - see below.

Sri Paduka Tuanku Sultan Panglima Usman al-Sani Perkasa 'Alam Shah ibni al-Marhum Sultan 'Amal ud-din Panglima Mangedar 'Alam Shah [Marhum Masjid], Sultan of Deli (b. at Labuhan 1809; d. there, 22nd October 1857, Masjid Raya), second son of Panglima Sultan 'Amal ud-din I Mangedar 'Alam ibni al-Marhum Tuanku Panglima Gandar Wahid, Sultan of Deli. She had issue, one son
1813 - 1859 H.H. Sri Paduka Tuanku Sultan Muhammad Husain Rahmad Shah I ibni al-Marhum Sultan Muhammad 'Ali Shah [al-Marhum Kampung Masjid], Sultan and Yang di-Pertuan Besar of the State of Asahan. b. 1806, educ. privately. Proclaimed by his uncle, Tengku Tua and Tengku Biyung Kechil, on the death of his father, 1813. Asserted his independence from Aceh sometime during the middle of the nineteenth century. Assumed the title of Sri Paduka Tuanku al-Sultan Muhammad Husain Rahmad Shah, and recognised as such by the British and Dutch authorities. m. (first) Y.M. Tengku Sulung (b. ca. 1815), daughter of his uncle, Y.A.M. Tengku Tua, of Bedagai, by his wife, a daughter of the Raja of Panai. m. (second) Tuan Telaha [Tuan Trus], daughter of a nephew of the Batak Raja of Buntu Panai. He d. at Si Rantau, 10th February 1859 (bur. there at the Kampung Masjid), having had issue, five sons and four daughters by his first wife, and two sons and one daughter by his second:

• 2) Y.A.M. Tengku Amir ibni al-Marhum Sultan Muhammad Husain Rahmad Shah, Tengku Pangeran Besar Muda. b. 1840 (s/o Tengku Sulung). Exiled to Ambon, 1865. m. (first) a daughter of Guru Babiat, Raja of Duluk. m. (second) January 1865 (nikah), Y.A.M. Tengku Andak binti Tuanku Sutan Bidar Alam Shah, daughter of Y.T.M. Tuanku Sutan Bidar Alam Shah II, Raja of Bila. He d. 1913 (bur. there at the Great Mosque of Sultan Ahmad Shah), having had issue, three sons:
• a) Y.M. Tengku Muhammad 'Ali bin Tengku Amir, Tengku Mantri. He had issue, four sons:

• (1) Y.M. Tengku Idris bin Tengku Adenan. He was k. at Tanjung Balai, together with 40 members of his family, during the "social revolution", 4th March 1946 (bur. there at the Great Mosque of Sultan Ahmad Shah).
• (2) Y.M. Tengku Bahar ud-din bin Tengku Adenan. He was k. at Tanjung Balai, together with 40 members of his family, during the "social revolution", 4th March 1946 (bur. there at the Great Mosque of Sultan Ahmad Shah).

• iv) Y.M. Tengku Bahman bin Tengku Muhammad 'Ali. He was k. at Tanjung Balai, together with 40 members of his family, during the "social revolution", 4th March 1946 (bur. there at the Great Mosque of Sultan Ahmad Shah).

Sri Paduka Tuanku Sultan Muhammad Husain Rahmad Shah I ibni al-Marhum Raja Musa Shah [al-Marhum Kampung Masjid], Sultan and Yang di-Pertuan Besar of the State of Asahan, by his first wife, Tengku Sulung, daughter of his uncle, Tengku Tua. Succeeded on the death of his father, 10th February 1859. Installed with the reign name of Sri Paduka Tuanku Sultan Ahmad Shah. Deposed by the Dutch authorities on 27th September 1865, but continued to rule in the interior of the state. Restored and recognised by the government of the NEI, 25th March 1886. m. Y.A.M. Tengku Sulung, eldest daughter of Y.A.M. Raja Muhammad Ishaq ibni al-Marhum Raja Sayyid Musa Shah, Raja of Kualuh and Leidong and Yang di-Pertuan Muda of Asahan. Ungku 'Abdu'l Rahman bin Ungku 'Abdu'l Majid, of Johor, by his first wife, Che Puan Amina binti 'Abdu'llah, a Dutch lady. HIS Tanjung Balai and MULO, Batavia. m. at the Istana Kota Raja Indra Sakti, Tanjung Balai, ca. 26th September 1933, a daughter of Colonel H.H. Sultan 'Abdu'l Hamid Halim Shah II ibni al-Marhum Sultan Ahmad Taj ud-din al-Mukarram Shah, Sultan of the State of Kedah Dar ul-Aman, KCMG. He d. 1982.
• 6) Y.A.M. Tengku Besar Sha'ibun Yunus, who succeeded as H.H. Sri Paduka Tuanku Sultan Sha'ibun 'Abdu'l Jalil Rahmad Shah ibnu al-Marhum Sultan Muhammad Husain, Sultan and Yang di-Pertuan Besar of Asahan (s/o Tengku Zahara) - see below.

Tengku Alang Yahya bin Tengku Muhammad 'Adil, sometime Sri Paduka Tengku Regent, by his second wife, Y.M. Tengku Biong binti Tengku Alam Shah, daughter of Y.M. Tengku Alam Shah, Raja of Kisaran.
• 1) Y.A.M. Tengku Darjat binti al-Marhum Sultan Muhammad Husain Rahmad Shah. m. Tengku Mansur Shah ibni al-Marhum Sultan Muhammad Shah, Tengku Besar (d. presumed killed, 4th March 1946), eldest son of H.H. Sri Paduka Tuanku al-Haji Muhammad Shah ibni al-Marhum Tuanku al-Haji 'Abdu'llah Nikmat Shah, Sultan and of Kualuh and Leidong. She d. at Istana Tanjung Pasir, 28th April 1931, having had issue, four sons and four daughters - see Indonesia (Kualuh).
• 2) Y.A.M. Tengku Aisha ['Isah] binti al-Marhum Sultan Muhammad Husain Rahmad Shah (d/o Inche' Ongah). m. Y.M. Tengku 'Abdu'l Majid bin Tengku Alang Yahya, sometime DH of Tanjung Balai, elder son of Y.A.M. Tengku Alang Yahya bin Tengku Muhammad 'Adil, sometime Sri Paduka Tengku Regent. She d. 1987, having had issue, an only daughter - see above.
• 3) Y.A.M. Tengku Khair ul-Baria binti al-Marhum Sultan Muhammad Husain Rahmad Shah (d/o Inche' Itam). m. 1911, Y.A.M. Sri Paduka Tuanku Sultan Sha'ibun 'Abdu'l Jalil Rahmad Shah III ibnu al-Marhum Sultan Muhammad Husain, Sultan and Yang di-Pertuan Besar of Asahan. b. at Tanjung Balai, 5th October 1906, as Tengku Besar Sha'ibun Yunus, sixth son of H.H. Sri Paduka Tuanku Sultan Muhammad Husain Rahmad Shah II ibni al-Marhum Tengku Muhammad 'Adil, Sultan and Yang di-Pertuan of Asahan, by his fifth wife, H.H. Tengku Zahara binti Raja Muhammad Yusuf al-Mahdi, Tengku Permaisuri, educ. HIS Tanjung Balai and MULO, Batavia. Recognised as Heir Apparent by the government of the NEI, 8th February 1913. High Sch., Medan and Univ. of Jakarta (MD). Medical Practitioner practising at Kota Raja, Aceh and at Medan. Succeeded on the death of his father, as Head of the Royal House of Asahan, 6th April 1980. Installed at Tanjung Balai, with the title of Sri Paduka Tuanku Sultan Dr. Kamal Abrahim 'Abdu'l Jalil Rahmad Shah, 17th May 1980. Chair.
